Is The Spot In The Lung A Scar Tissue From The Injury?

About a year ago I broke 2 ribs. The x-ray showed a spot on my lung at the area of the broken ribs. A follow-up x-ray showed that it had been just a bruise. A ct can today shows a nodule on the same lung. Is it most likely scar tissue from the injury?

Thanks for your question on HCM.
I can understand your problem and situation.
By your description, it seems mostly fibrotic scar lesion.
The reason for this is as follows.
Any lung Insult whether tuberculosis or pneumonia or lung confusion, heals by either fibrosis or calcification. And these appear as scar lesion on chest x ray and CT thorax.
Pulmonary contusion is common after rib fracture. So it is normal to have scar tissue on lungs at the site of broken rib.
So due to healing, scar tissue is seen at the site of rib injury.
No need to worry much for this. Follow up CT is needed after 6 months to see the status of the lesion.
If scar is of same size than no need to worry. It is inactive, healed scar only.
