Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms excessive salivation is commonly experienced by an individual suffering from cold and flu which is a viral infection, this is because of irritation in throat and mouth as well as reduced swallowing due to soreness in throat which is commonly seen in flu..

Nothing to worry as it is a temporary finding and as your cold will improve the salivation will also come to normal..
Nothing to worry and as there can be a secondary bacterial infection with viral so you can take a short course of antibiotics like Azithromycin or Amoxicillin for 5 days.
Take anti-inflammatory painkiller Ibuprofen.
Take decongestants like Pseudoephadrine [Sudafed]
Do steam inhalations and saline nasal sprays.
Sucking throat lozenges will help..
Drink plenty of water and take ample of rest..
Avoid taking cold foods and fluids.
Gargle with mouthwash as it has a drying effect and will reduce the over salivation effect.

Hopefully you will start resolving in 3 to 4 days and salivation will also come to normal..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
