Is The Red Bruise At The Side Of The Head A Matter Of Concern?

My 14 year old some was wrestling in the pool and decides to swim away and that s when he hit his head on the side of the wall. He now says he doesn t feel well and has a headache and I can see red like bruse on his right side of his head. Should I be concerned?

Hi
thankyou for your query
Presence of external marks is suggestive of trauma .
if the headache is loclised to the site of trauma then their is nothing to worry.
but if child lost consciousness after trauma , has vomiting ,sever generalised headach , photophobia , abnormal movement of body (seizures) or change in behaviour like irritablity , duless or weakness in some body part , then you need to get a CT scan of the head and go to the ER.
their might be localised swelling and discolouration which is only external traums.

hope your dought is cleared

regards
