Is The Pus Pocket At The Back Of The Throat Be Due To Pharyngitis?
My son 5 yoa was been running a high fever 103-105 for 4 days. he has taken 2 rocefin shots and was diagnosed with febral illness and pharangytis. he complained of his mouth hurting and i looked and it looked like he had a puss pocket at the back of his throat. is this normal and part of the diagnosis. he goes back to the pediatrician tomorrow for another white blood count test and possible 3rd shot

Understamding your concern. As per your query your son has pus pocket at back of throat which could be due to pharyngitis. Need not to worry about it. You should visit pediatrician once and get blood tests done. WBC count will check the level of infection. You should start medication after proper diagnosis. Till then take antobiotic Amoxicillin for 3 days. Avoid use of cold liquid substances. Take steam inhalation. You should give child green tea or chicken soup. Avoid oily food. Take diet rich in multivitamins. Antiinflammatory drugs Sinarest will be helpful. If fever will be there along with infection you should give Ibuprofen to your son. Give him plenty of fluids.
