Hi,

It appears your mother is having hallucinations because of which she appears to be talking to unseen people. It suggests the presence of psychosis. Decreased sleep and abnormal behavior are also because of that. She will need antipsychotic medicines. You should take her to a psychiatrist for necessary evaluation and treatment. A neurologist can be called in later if any neurological cause is found for the symptoms.

Best wishes.
