Is Taking Isoxsuprine Hcl Safe During Pregnancy?

Hi. I had a faint positive on the 7th day of my missed period using 25mlIU/hCG tester. I had brown spot on the 9th day of missed period. Based on my last menstruation date I am on 5 weeks. I immediately looked for the nearest OB. She gave me Isoxsuprine HCl (3x a day). Is it safe? Also she said I should take Duphaston (4 tablets yesterday and 2 tablets per day onwards)

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

Isoxsuprine has no documented studies to say it causes harm during pregnancy. I believe your doctor had enough reasons to recommend this and as an OBGYN, she must be doing so from experience. I will say it is justified and there is no reason to get scare of. Duphaston is a hormone and normally present during pregnancy. Used in cases of suspected insufficiency and it is entirely safe.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for suing our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
