Is Taking Suboxone Advisable For Severe Back Pain In A Person With COPD?

I have 16 rods screws plates and cages in my lumbar spine. I currently take 10/325 norco 2 three times a day I also take diazepam 25 mg. a day. I had my doc take me off morphine well over a year ago to see if I had any under lying issues,which I don t.I LIVE INSEVERE CHRONIC PAIN EVERYDAY. I HAVE BEEN TUGH 2 MASSIVE 360 SPINALFUSIONS AND WAS TOLD A 3RD WOULD KILL ME. I HAVE COPD AND YES A SMOKER.NOW THEY ARE TREATING ME LIKE A HERION ADDICT AND WANT ME TO TAKE SUBOXONE. I TAKE MY MEDS RIGHT AND DONT ABUSE THEM,I WAS TOLD I WILL ALWAYS HAVE THIS CHRONIC PAIN BY MY SURGEON.SO WHY ARE THEY NOT LISTENING TO ME AND TRYING TO KILL ME WITH THAT SBOXONE.IT SAYS YOU WILL DIE IF U HAVE BREATHING PROBLEMS AND TAKE THAT CRAP.WHY WONT THEY JUST MAKE ME AS COMFORTBLE AS POSSIBLE,WHICH MY CONDITION HAS SPREAD INTO MY HIPS AND OTER LEVELS OF MY SPINE?

Thanks for asking at healthcare magic. I read your question and I understand your concern.
COPD with sixteen rods in spine, having chronic pain needs strong nerves with best coping mechanisms.
Suboxone does not cause life threatening respiratory depression in COPD if used in half adult dose as used by normal adults.
I would like to suggest You that should not very much worried.
Keep your coping mechanisms strong. Take aerobic excersize according to your breathing efforts. also observe Mental excersizes like Yoga.
Gradually decrease your dose of suboxone to nill. Take safe analgesics like Tramadal plus paracetamol
1 tab three times a day. Also take Neuropathic pain medications like pregabalin 75 mg Two times a day. Topical analgesic like Diclifenac sodium gel.
