Hello, my girlfriend has been takink Percocet for 2 years now due to back problems, she has been told recently that they need to up her dosage to help with her continuing pain. But she also heard things like her life expantancy is really short due to taking this drug and her quality of life will be really low. she wants to stop taking this medicine completely and I am behind her 100 percent, we would like to know what vitamins should she take to help with withdraws and to recover from the effects and Percocet. we have researched and seen several, but what are the correct ones?

It really is a function of the total dose of the percocet. Certainly one pill a week is not going to be a dangerous amount and 30 a day (happens) is quite dangerous. the risk categories according to recent guidelines are about 3-4 percocet at the lowest dose is pretty safe (under 30 mg a day), 50 to 100 mg is a dose that needs close supervision and over 100 mg a day is generally something serious going wrong somewhere.
Vitamins are not part of withdrawal from narcotics. If someone is eating food, one will get enough vitamins. In alcoholism, the calories from the alcohol may mean that someone doesn't eat food and gets no vitamins. This is rare in heroin/narcotic use and so, vitamin supplements do not generally have a role in narcotic problems.
