Is Taking Betnesol Injection During Pregnancy,safe?

Hi, I have a question for my wife's pregnancy. Doctor prescribed 2 doses Betnesol 12mg each with a gap of 24 hrs. My wife is also having gestational diabetes. Is it safe to have this injection as it is reported to increase the blood glucose levels. Kindly suggest. Thanks in advance...

hi, the doctor must have anticipated premature delivery for your wife so prescribed betnesol inj. yes it will cause a temporary rise in her blood glucose levels but they will return to normal within 48 to 72 hours so not a matter of concern.and to have a premature child with underdeveloped lungs is a higher risk than that posed by gestational diabetes.take care and all the best.
