Is Taking Betnesol Injection During Pregnancy Safe?

.Hello sir/madam, My wife 32 week pregnancy,doctor suggest betnesol 12mg injection for 2times with in 24hours.ultrasound show placenta is posterior lower uterine segment.betnesol injection safe for my wife or my baby. Plz suggest me...

Hello sir,I understand your concern.usually betanasol injection is given for lung maturation of fetus in case of preterm delivery so that baby will be able to survive outside after delivery.the ultrasound report is showing placenta praevia ie.,placenta in lower uterine segment.may be your doc thinking that there may be chance for preterm delivery so to put on safe side she might have suggested this.dont worry that doesn't harm neither mother nor baby.just ask your wife to take rest ,observe fetal movements and avoid intercourse .if any spotting or bleeding consult your doctor soon.
