Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Welcome to HCM and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
Both Amlodipine and Atenolol are medicines that lower your heart rate. Now that your heart rate is only 60/minute, the combination will produce undesirable bradycardia. An ACEI or ARB would be a better addition to Atenolol.
By the way, you are likely to be Type 2 if you were earlier controlled on tablets and now require additional insulin for control. If your diabetes is not well controlled on your present medicines, I shall be happy to help you.
If you have more queries, I am available.
Dr. Noble Zachariah
