Is Swollen Lip Due To Breathing Tube Or Anesthesia Given During Surgery?

I had a kidney stone removed yesterday under general anesthetic. Today it feels like I got punched in the mouth. My lower lip is especially swollen. Is this a reaction the the breathing tube or the anesthetic? Will the swelling go down as the anesthetic leaves my system?

Hello
Thanks for query .You have developed swelling of the lower lip after being administered general anesthesia for surgery to remove kidney stone ,

There is likely to be due to possibility of trivial trauma to the lower lip due to laryngoscope while putting endotrachial tube in respiratory pipe(Trachea) or due to pressure of endotrachial tube .

Do not worry this is happens once in a while and gets cured within 3-4 days .

Take anti inflammatory medication like Diclofenac twice daily and use topical antibiotic ointment like Neosporin for local application over lip .
