Is Surgery Advisable For A Tear In The Inferior Labrum?
Sir doctor sid that in my left shoulder there is a tear of the posterior inferior labrum with associated small para labral cyst abd they give me a suggestion of surgery but i dont want a surgery because my hand work properly only i have pain in my shoulder
Inferior Labral tears are commonly associated with paralabral cysts, and the only modality of treatment available is Surgery. The tear is what is causing you the pain presently and not the cyst, but as a cyst can grow larger in size, it will eventually compress the nerve near the shoulder joint (axillary nerve) resulting in Quadrilateral space syndrome (increased pain at night and reduced overhead movement). Surgery may sound intimidating, but the surgery required for management in this case is arthroscopy, which is a Keyhole surgery. As it is minimally invasive, it can be done under one sitting and the scar is cosmetically clean.
