Is Sudden Rise Of Blood Pressure, In Elders Normal?
My father is 76 years healthy person. He is 5 feet 3 inches and weighs 60 kgs. He neither drinks nor smoke. He always has BP of 120/80. He takes Amlodipin 5 mg daily for the last 30 years. Recently, he visited me in Thailand and his BP rose to 180/90. He went back to India, but his BP is still 140/80 (last 10 days). Should I be worried? Warm regards,Prof. R. Banerjee
Hi, Having BP 140/80 is quite in normal range and nothing to worry. Occasional increasing upto 180/90 without any problem, do not worry. Continue with hypertensive medicine. Keep his BP record regularly. Ok and take care.
