Is Stopping Of Ramipril Advisable When BP Has Dropped Significantly?

Hi my dad is 91 and taking Ramipril 5mg cap- he is now taking a fluid table every 3 days for heart failure. Fluid tablet yesterday and since yesterday afternoon his blood pressure has dropped significately. We are thinking of not taking the Ramipril tonight..what would you suggest?

welcome to healthcaremagic,

As, u had mentioned, you father was prescribed T.Ramipril 5mg and he is taking pills for heart failure.It is still advised to continue,T.Ramipril, as it would help heart pump normally inspite of his blood pressure dropping.

It is much advised to consult a cardiologist before stopping a drug.
