Is Steroids Safe For An IHD Patient?

My father is 62 years old, he is IHD patient, had two heart attacks, medicines are on.. He is diabetic..
and now suffering from Usual Intertestial Pneumonia, having pulmonery fibrosis.. doctors recommended Azoran(50mg), Omnacortil (30mg).. is it safe for him to take steroids ?

Steroids have got a lot of adverse effect on hypertension and diabetes
But they are absolutely contraindicated only in acute phase of heart attack
In your case, we have to weigh between risk and benefits of steroids and judicious use of steroids are justifiable in this case
