Is Sporadic Lower Abdominal Pain Due To Ovarian Cysts?

i have been having pain in my (very low) lower left abdomen off and on for a few months. My PCP ordered pelvic and kidney sonograms. i have a history of kidney stones. i was convinced it was most likely an ovarian cyst because of the pain coming and going. i found out today the pelvic sonogram was normal and the renal was abnormal. If there was a kidney stone in my ureter for a few months would the pain come and go or be constant? The sonogram didn t even look at the ureters because they are so small.

Hi
greetings.
Since the scan is normal in relation to ovary it cannot be a torsion from ovarian cyst where in the pain will be continuous .
An ureteric stone can cause pain intermittently as it comes down to the bladder from kidney. It need not be picked up in ultrasound scan always.
I suggest you to consult an urologist. hope you are convinced. Regards
