Is Spleen Or Breast, Related With Painful Ribcage And A History Of Lupus?

dull pain, tenderness and fullness under my left breast and ribcage. I have lupus and have had inflamation of the kidneys in the past, as well as fluid around the heart and lungs. This is a new feeling. could it be my spleen? Or would it be more of a breast issue?

Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

One of the causes of pain abdomen in SLE is Perisplenitis, which can cause pain under left ribcage. Other possibility can be lt basal Lupus pneumonitis or dry pleurisy/pleuritis,both are known pulmonary manifestation of SLE and can cause pain in the region under lt breast. SLE however does not involve soft tissue of breast.
