Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Unprotected oral sex is a risk factor for throat/pharyngeal gonorrhea. The symptoms of pharyngeal infection are similar to sore throat i.e throat pain and painful swallowing.
I suggest you to visit a specialist for testing and confirmatory diagnosis as well as appropriate prescription.
A swab test from the pharynx to test for microbial DNA is sensitive and specific and would be confirmatory.
Future course depends on the result of the swab test; if it detects gonorrhea, Oral antibiotics Or IV antibiotics are the treatments of choice.
Commonly used antibiotics for throat gonorrhea are ceftriazone and ciprofloxacin.

Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic

Unprotected receptive Oral Sex is a risk factor for Throat/Pharyngeal Gonorrhea, apart from other STD's like oro-labial herpes, syphilis, chlamydia etc.
Throat/ Pharyngeal gonorrhea may be associated with sore throat and swollen neck glands.
A simple swab test taken from the throat can confirm whether the sore throat is due to gonorrhea which if confirmed should be treated the same way as gonococcal urethritis.
I would also suggest testing for other STD's like chlamydia, syphilis and herpes as well.
I suggest you to visit a doctor for counselling and testing.

Regards
Always practice safe sex with a condom!
