Is Smoking Medical Marijuana Safe?

Hello, I am heading for a colonoscopy in 9 days. I am a combat medic and 34 years of age. I was prescribed medical marijuana for anxiety, pain and insomnia. I was on ms contin 60mg, now medical marijuana seems to be working. To the point: Can I smoke medical marijuana within the week prior to the colonoscopy?

Hi,

I do not think marijuana will affect the colonoscopy findings in any way but it will be better to call up your gastroenterologist and confirm if you are allowed to smoke it or not. Many doctors advise stopping of marijuana before taking up any procedures.

Best wishes.
