Is Smoking Cannabis Before A Dental Procedure Safe?

I have a Abscess on my gum in the back of my mouth right between my last and second to the last tooth. My second to the last tooth is broken and I m sure that s why my gum is infected. I went to the dentist yesterday and now I m on antibiotics and will have the broken tooth pulled in 2 weeks, my question is can i smoke cannabis and if I do will it effect the healing process for my abscess gums?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Smoking Cannabis should be strictly prohibited as it can first of all increase inflammation and pain and can delay the healing as well as reduce the effectiveness of the antibiotic that will ultimately delay the resolution of infection..

So my suggestion is to avoid Smoking Cannabis..

Another important information is that taking antibiotic alone in case of abscess in tooth is not sufficient and you should consult your Dentist and get an x ray done so that further treatment that is deep scaling and Curettage can be advised..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
