Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 90 year old Mom recently went for a physical. She was still on antibiotics and claritin for a bad cold and not yet recovered from it. Her heart rate was high but the doctor said her EKG was good. The doctor also said she had a slight heart murmur but didn't recommend doing anything about it. Should we be concerned?
No need to worry at all. Considering the other aspect of the issues such as infection , increased heart rate which point towards the hyper dynamic circulation the slight murmur is expected which is nothing to worry about. Further more your doctor has already done the precautionary tests which include EKG which is normal. SO you need not to worry about the murmur which will faint by few days.
