Hello. Thank you for your question and welcome to HCM. I understand your concern.
Well, as far as I know, these symptoms are not related to a
heart attack. But, I think medical attention should be sought for these two symptoms you elicited. Prolonged
sinus infections, that come and go few times a year, have the origin in the septum nasi, which is deviated. Septum nasi is a structure in the inner nose position, which is not rare to be found deviated in the worldwide population. The symptoms can vary from none to recurring sinus inflammations, because this deviated septum closes or narrows the orifice of the sinus, and the mucus, which is normally discharged, builds up within the sinus. From this build up, the sinus walls are constantly inflamed, hence the headache. My recommendation is that you should discuss this matter with an otorhinolaringologist (ENT doctor), to further discuss the treating options.
As for the
blood in stool, it should be clarified whether it looks red and spot-like, or if the stool is with dark discoloration. In the first case, the reason can be hemorrhoides, which are nothing but small vessels that get engorged and pop when stool goes through the anal opening, hence the blood. If the stool is with a dark discoloration, a discussion with a gastroenterologist would be a wise action at this moment, since the blood can come from upper "floors" of the digestive system, i.e. the oesophagus, stomach or
duodenum (the first part of the
small intestine).
I hope I was helpful and thorough. Take care.
Regards,
Dr. Meriton
