Is Shortness Of Breath, Extreme Backpain A Matter Of Concern With Spontaneous Pneumothorax?
I had a left spontaneous pneumothorax two months ago, pain on the left side continues and as of a week ago my right side has started to hurt. I have a (tolerable) sharp pain in my right side and my two of my ribs are look as if they are caving in. I have never noticed this before and I dont know if I had it in the past. I have not hurt myself or been in an accident. I do not have shortness of breath, or extreme back pain as I did with my first SP. Should I be concerned?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Yes, you should definitely concern about these symptoms of back pain and shortness of breath. You already had spontaneous pneumothorax 2 months back. Pneumothorax can be Recurrent. So your all present symptoms can be due to pneumothorax. Hence, consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and chest x ray. Don't wait at home as pneumothorax if untreated can be life threatening. So get done chest x ray to rule rule out pneumothorax. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
