Is Shortness Of Breath A Symptom Of Myofascial Pain Syndrome?
Can myofascial pain syndrome be the cause of me feeling as if I have a band around my top ribs under my breasts makes me feel resistance when breathing. Before I retired I would pull my bra off as soon as I inside my home but it really never helped. I have a low oxygen level at night and use oxygen but I wonder if my diaphragm feeling like it is restricted that could be causing the low oxygen. I also would like to know if MPS could be the cause.
Hello, Thanks for sharing your concern with us and showing trust on us . Yes , breathing difficulty can be a symptom of Myofascial pain syndrome. But at the same time other more serious cause of such breathing difficulty should also be ruled out like cardiac and lung problems . If the definitive diagnosis is made as MPS then I would recommend you to consult further with physiotherapist and would encourage you to start practicing yoga. I wish you good health. Best Regards, Dr.S.Tomar
