Is Severe Pain In Tail Bone Post Injury Suggestive Of Fracture?
Two weeks ago I slipped on black ice, bumped my head, went to ER and found I had a contusion. Nothing else hurt until the next day. Since then I m having severe pain near my tail bone to the right. It s not getting better and becomes difficult to walk or stand. I am 79 yrs old. Could I have a fractured tail bone?
noted history of trauma and severe pain in the coccygeal area. it is possible that you might have a fracture in the said area. it is best if you consult with a doctor for physical examination and clinical evaluation. diagnostics (such as xray or MRI) may be suggested, to rule-out fractures and nerve impingement. management (medical and/or surgical if indications are found) will be directed accordingly. analgesics as needed and cold compress may temporarily alleviate the pain.
hope this helps.
good day!!
