Is Severe Pain Due To Ear Infection Followed By Hives Normal?

4YR. OLD WITH A EAR INFECTION, GIVEN PENECILLIAN DEVELOPED HIVES FOLLOWED WITH SEVERE PAIN, UNABLE TO WALK AND SCREAMED IF ANYTHING TOUCHED HIM. IMROVED WITH ANTIALLERGIC MEDICINE AS WELL AS PAIN MEDICINE. CAN WE ASSUME THIS IS AN ALLERGIIC REACTION OR COULD WE BE DEALING WITH SOMETHING ELSE AS WELL?

Hives is definitely an allergic reaction and i would advice you to tell this to your doctor and never give the child penicillin again.
