Is Septoplasty Advisable For Ethmoidal Sinusitis And Deviated Nasal Septum?

Hi doctor, I have been recently diagnosed with bilateral ethmoidal sinusitis and deviation of nasal septum to left side.I have been suffering with left side ear blockage, ringing ears, jaw discomfort, eye pressure with bulging a bit and left head ache at the back since 1 year above.I am facing slight difficulty in hearing because of ringng ears.I have neck pain where CT scan of neck did not show anything.I have consulted a couple of doctors regarding the same. They are directly suggesting me a surgery called septoplasty.please let me know whether my problem can be solved with medicines or surgery is needed??

Hello,
Thanks for the concern. According to history you have Ethmoidal sinusitis and deviated nasal septum due to which you are suffering from left side ear blockage, ringing ears, jaw discomfort, left sided headache. There lare two modes of treatment 1) Medical management which include decongestant drugs, painkillers with paracetamol, antibiotics and also you can take hot steam twice daily. But if you dont feel relief than the only option is 2) Surgical treatment which is Septoplasty. So immediately consult the ENT surgeon and start treatment accordingly. Take care
