Is Scuba Diving Safe When Suffering From An Enlarged Heart?

I was just told that i have an enlarged heart and had to cancel a 5 week scuba course that I was about to take. My question is will I be able to take the course in the future? and if there is a reason for concern, how will it effect me in the future? I had a ECG done two days ago and my resting heart rate was 52, and I have a heart murmur.

it all depends on what the function of the heart is, if the function of the heart is preserved, you most typically will do ok - you may need to be on special medications and will need close follow up with your cardiologist.
