Is Rheumatoid Arthritis And Hyperpigmentaion Related?
I have seronegative rheumatoid arthritis and my blood pressure is high....134/105. I have high colouring on my cheeks, hyper pigmentation on my cheeks and my arms burn. GP has prescribed Ramipril for the BP and my rheumatologist has me on sulfsalasizine. Could these be linked ? Thanks
I will advise some important blood investigation like ASO titre,RA factor,ACCP,CRP,ESR,CBC.

hi I would suggest ,as your rheumatologist may have also advised, avoidance of exposure to sunlight or use of sun protective screens once sulfasalazine is being taken as it is known to cause skin problems on too much exposure, although it doesn't happen to everyone, but is seen in some who may develop some hypersensitivity. You may seek consultation again with the rheumatologist
Best wishes,
