Is Rectovaginal Fistula Possible From The Trauma Of Having Sex With A Tampon Lost Inside?

A few months ago I forgot and left a tampon in for 2 weeks. I had sex with it in as well and ended up inserting more tampons when I started to have a foul smelling bloody discharge as I didn't know what was going on.It definitely became infected but cleared up as soon I found and removed 1st tampon. However in the 4 months since then I have had BV twice accompanied by air bubbles coming out of my vagina and often times a thick white discharge from my vagina while having a bowel movement and it's definitely not a yeast infection as this is the only time I get it and it does not itch or hurt at all. Could I have gotten a rectovaginal fistula from the trauma of having sex with a tampon lost inside of me and also from inserting more tampons unknowingly while having the first one stuck in there? Just this week I once noticed the air bubbles that came out of my vagina smelled as if they came from my anus... But I wasn't sure if this was because I know BV can cause extremely foul smelling discharge and such but I had yet to have Any other symptoms of bv yet at that time.

Hi and thanks for the query,
This is possible under specific conditions. the most important of this is to ensure and be sure there was a notion of trauma. A tampon left inside can cause an infection. It is true that this could fragilize the muscular walls and surrounding tissue. It is possible in case the infection is too severe. a clinical review however is mandatory. Kind regards
