Is Rabies Disease Possible Even If The Dog Is Vaccinated Regularly?

My dog playfully scratched me on the lower lip. It didn t bleed but it s reddened. All the dogs vaccine shots are up to date and he is healthy. The dog got his 1st year vaccine shots day before yesterday. Should I be worried about any infections or rabies?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello Dear. Watch the dog carefully for 10 days. If you feel any altered behavior like signs of madness then immediately go to a doctor and get injection against rabies. If the dog is healthy for ten days then do not worry. Meanwhile you can take a tetanus injection in case you havent had one in the past 6 months.
