Is Putting On Weight Due To IV Abnormal?
My wife has just spent 5 days in hospital for an abdominal inflammation/ infection. She ate virtually nothing in this time but was on a dextrose drip which inclluded pain medication for 2 days. Yet now that she's home she weighed and found that she has has put on 10 pounds in this short time due to the IV. This seems ridiculous.

I appreciate your concern, you are under the wrong impression the IV fluid does not (Dextrose ) increase of the patient there could be some other problem, that need to be investigated, take care, and have nice day.
