Is Puffy And Red Eyelids An Allergic Reaction To Bactrim?

I have a 13 month old that is on Bactrim for a staph infection. He's been on it for 3 days and his chin and cheeks are now bright red like they're chapped and his eyes are puffy. His eyelids are also red and underneath his eyes are red but don't have the warm chapped feeling like his cheeks and chin. Is this an allergic reaction to the antibiotics, fifth disease, or something else?

It should be an allergic reaction urticaria. Stop the drug and approach your pediatrician. As sulfa srugs allergys are so bad, better see your doctor soon.Calamine lotion can be used locally for soothing action.Cetrizine or hydroxyzine (atarax) syrups i usually prescribe for my patients. Those have severe forms i use steroids also.Hope this may help you
