Is Pseudopsychosis A Side Effect Of Ibuprofen?

I have been giving regular doses of ibuprofen to my son for the last two days because of throat inflamation, headaches, fever, etc. Twice, however, he has gotten really frantic and started acting paranoid, seeing things that weren't there. The second time he said he heard my voice in his head, and that his brain was "rushing" way too fast. Both episodes passed in a few minutes. I read that "pseudopsychosis" was a potential side effect of ibuprofen, and am wondering if these episodes will pass, or if I need to do something more than wait.

Hello
Ibuprofen is the safest anti pyretic drug for children and even for NEONATES .
Your son developed "pseudopsychosis " but this is very uncommon side effect of this drug .
However some times I have noted in my patient ( children ) that they develop these type of symptoms like slurred speech , incoherent behaviour due to fever caused by sore throat or infection .
However in your son this may be due to ibuprofen , so next time please be careful about such drugs and at present need not to consult any body except don't use this drug in future.
However hypersensivity reaction may cause such symptoms .
Good luck.
