Is Primolut Appropriate Before Starting IVF Procedure?

My partner and I are just about to start IVF. I have been told from day 14 I will take Primolut tablets for 2 weeks. What will this actually do? I thought this was a contraceptive pill? Will I then definitely start my next period after 2 weeks of taking this? Thank you

Hello!
Thanks for your query.
Primolut is a synthetic progesterone.
In women, progesterone is responsible for the development of a healthy womb lining (endometrium) that is necessary for pregnancy.
The body produces progesterone at certain times of the menstrual cycle, causing the womb lining to flourish.
If a fertilised egg does not attach to the womb lining by the end of the monthly menstrual cycle, the levels of progesterone in the body decrease.
You should take it as prescribed from doctor.
Take care of your self
