Is Pregnancy Possible While On Nordette?

I had an unprotected sex with my girlfriend I told her to take 4 pills of Nordette at 8:51PM and she did and after 12 hours, I told her to take 4 pills again at exact time of 8:51AM. My question is Will it be effective? My follow up question is Does she have to take 1 pill of Nordette after using as ECP to make it as regular birth controll pills?

Hi,

Nordette pill as emergency contraceptive pill was taken in correct manner. It is 85% effective in preventing pregnancy in your case. But it cause delay in period by 1-2 week as it cause hormonal imbalance. To use Nordette as birth control pill you have to start it form first day of menstrual period.

You can not start in between of menstruation. Use I pill as emergency contraceptive pill with in 24 hours of sex rather than Nordette. You can also use condom as it free from hormonal side effect If period will delay by more than 2 weeks then consult gynecologist to confirm pregnancy and manage accordingly. Meanwhile avoid stress, take healthy diet, drink plenty off water and do regular exercise.
