Is Pregnancy Possible While Having Contraceptive Implant?

Can I become pregnant on the contraceptive implant? I feel very strange but can t put my finger on why. Have pregnancy symtoms. Taken a home pregnancy test and it was negative eventually. When from slight positive to negative within the 3 minutes. I just don t feel right. Thanks.

Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. As for any other mode of contraception, there is a slight failure rate for the implant too. If you are not sure of the home pregnancy test, you can go for the estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres to confirm/exclude pregnancy. Home pregnancy tests should be done 3-7 days after the missed period with a fresh early morning sample of urine. A trans-vaginal sonogram done a week later can give the status of the pelvic organs and clarify the situation. Hope you find this information useful. Take care.
