Is Physical Therapy A Must Post ACL Surgery?

I had ACL surgery over a year ago and didn t finish physical therapy because of insurance purposes. My knee is back to normal I went through fire academy without any problem but I m in need of getting cleared for the military what might my doctor have me to do get cleared with no restrictions. Would he make me finish physical therapy or see my knee is healthy and proceed to clearing me?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

Physical therapy is best and most effective during the initial stage of rehabilitation. As for clearance, you will require an elaborate examination of your knee in order to receive a clearance.

Best wishes.
