Is Persistent Cough A Symptom Of Lung Infection?

I have had a cough for several months. My previous doctor had a chest X-ray performed, but the radiologist did not see anything unusual. My current Internist had a CT scan performed and the radiologist thinks there is a lung infection. I am to have another CT scan run this week. What do you think the cough could be?

Hi welcome to the health care magic

You are having chronic cough since many month...

The causes here can be....
-Chronic allergy like asthma
-Lung infection esp tuberculosis
-Heart problem
-Chronic gastritis with acid reflux

According to cause specific treatment can be guided...

One tsp ginger juice with honey having soothing effect

Spirometry Also can be done for more work up

If no any specific cause found than it could be psycogenic cough

Avoid smoking if habit as it can lead irritational cough

Consult pulmonologoist for examination
