Is Passing Of Red Soft Tissues Common Symptom During UTI?

I am a male. I have been diagnosed with a bladder/urinary tract infection. The identified bacteria is e-coli. I am currently half way through prescribed antibiodic (bactrim). My fever has ceased and most of the fluid blood has stopped. However, the last few days i have now been passing large amounts of red tissue, very soft and thin, but solid. Is this expected as the infection leaves the bladder and exits?

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. It appears to be red cell casts.
2. You are not having frank hematuria, rather your RBC is coming out in groups.
3. If persistent, culture and sensitivity of urine sample is necessary to identify the proper antibiotic. Also take good amount of fluids. Red Cell casts are abnormal and is not expected. If still present after completion of treatment course, meet your doctor again for the urine test.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
