Is Pain Medicine Demarol Still Available In Market?

Thank you very much doctor. I have end stage osteoarthritis in both knees. Due to third degree burns to both legs I cannot get a knee replacement. The pain has become unbearable. IT runs up to my back and my feet. When I was young (12) there was a pain med called Demarol that worked very well. Is it still made and available?

Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Yes demerol (meperidine) is still available. This drug is a member of the opiate family of medications and would require a prescription from your doctor.

In addition to the pain medications, you may consider asking your doctor for a referral to physiotherapy center. Strengthening of the muscles around the knee with exercises and the use of braces may help.

I hope this helps
