Is Pain In The Neck And Shoulder In A Costochondritis Patient Anything Serious?

Hi I am a 43 yr old women average weight and height I have been told that I suffer from costochondritis my question is I worry that something is being missed I seem to have flare ups that come and go pain sometime in lft breast area but mostly internal aturnum upper and lower usually on right side and it affects my neck and shoulder joints sometimes it is a sharp pain that comes and goes sometimes and most of time it is tender I have had the following tests done Dec -2015 - ecg with echo normal Blood pressure - normal Xray normal Blood work including traponin normal but I am always scared

Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like cervical spondylosis , tendinitis or angina . I would suggest you to consult cardiologist without any delay . Doctor may order ECG , TMT , complete blood profile and check vitals . Doctor may prescribe isosorbide nitrate , beta blockers , diuretics and aspirin along with sedatives . Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon for muscle bone or shoulder joint problem and costochondritis , who may prescribe antiseizure and anti depressants along with anti inflammatory . For now take proper rest and do not exert your body .
