Is Pain In Chest And Throat Stress Related?

I have experienced sharp pains in my chest in the past and it has been considered anxiety or panic attacks, but yesterday I had a crushing pain in my chest for about 20 minutes and also a weird pain in my throat was I having a small heart attack or was this also stress related? because it felt very different from the sharp pain I used to get, and I haven t had those pains in quit a while. but I have been feeling VERY stressed lately so im not sure but it hurt really bad and was like someone was trying to crush my heart.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Thank you for your query.
The only way of knowing is to visit an ER and take an Electrocardiogram and consulting a physician.
some blood work may also me necessary.
I would suggest a treadmill test and echocardiography to rule out underlying pathology of the heart muscle.
If you have a history of hypertension and diabetes, you need to consult a physician before undergoing any tests.
hope this helps and fell free to get back to us if you need any clarification.
wish you good health
