I have a sliding hiatal hernia.Can it cause pain in my back as well as in my chest,which I have all the time.Me e-mail addy is YYYY@YYYY say mine is extra large.They were going to operate on Oct 21 and I have had this now for almost 4 months already.the pain is worse.When would i know to get to a hospital in case it would strangulate?
Hello and welcome to Healthcamagic. Yes,hiatal hernia may cause such pain and usually is. However,strangulation would be felt as sudden,severe pain with vomiting and nausea and you would not be able to stand up. So I doubt this is in your case. just have easier food and take antiacid medicines till surgery. I hope I have answered your query. I wish you a nice day.
