Is Numbness In Leg A Sign Of Stroke?

Hello, I m 16. My doctor told me to take primolut nor because I had a long heavy period which was caused by hyperthyroidism. But since I ve taken it I noticed I got acne and hair fall. Then I read somewhere that it can cause stroke and I ve been feeling a little pain in my right leg lately and numbness happens when I lay on my right side for a while. Is this a sign of stroke? I really am scared. Thankyou.

I read your question and I understand your concern.

It is true that in patients taking it there is a certain increase in possibility of having stroke but that is rare, special caution must be had in those having other risk factors for stroke, but millions of people take primolut or similar treatment without that being the case.
Regarding your particular case I don't think that pain is a sign of stroke, stroke doesn't cause pain in the limbs at presentation. It can show numbness but usually both upper and lower limbs on the same side and it is constant, not related to lying on the side like in your case.
So while you should discuss primolut use and other alternatives with your physician because of the hair fall and acne, I don't think you are having a stroke.

I hope to have been of help.
