Is Novorapid And Thyronorm Right Medication For High TSH And GD?
Hello doc, I am in my 14 th week pregnancy and was diagnosed with GD in my 6 th month..my hba1c before conception was6.4 and after conception 5.8 last we I got my hba1c tested and it was 5.5 I am on insole from my 6 th week novorapid 5 units in the afternoon and 4units at night..my sugar levels are well under control except one or two spikes (around 160) in a week..is everything well with my sugar levels..even I have hypothyroids since I was 8 yrs( now32) and taking thyronorm 100 mcg daily,my TSH was 2.3 and free t4 1.16 in my 6 th week,is it normal? Should ihave to change my dosage?what should be the normal tsp and freet4 levels during pregnancy..thanks in advance ---- Roopa
You are doing great as regards your gestational diabetes control. Happy to know about your normal level of HBA1C. One or two spikes in sugar level can be controlled too. Just keep a chart of what you are eating and find out when the spikes occur. Just by redistributing what you eat to other timings it can be controlled. If you have problem with it, consult dietician. As you progress in pregnancy, insulin requirements increase. So the dose needs to be adjusted by your doctor.
Your thyroid functions too are normal. Continue with the same dose of thyronorm. Repeat thyroid tests in every trimester. During pregnancy the TSH level should not be more than 2.5. I hope this helps.
