Hi, My father inlaw is advised to go for pacemaker as he was having short span blackout like symptoms frequently for some time.He has also gastric problems from long time. He is also taking high blood pressure medicines. He had neck spondilytisis as well. In holter monitering there was iiregular heart beat found. My concern is about is there any possibilities of neurological probmlem as well? How can we make sure it about pacemaker surgery as I read we cant do Mri after that? Please advice

Hi
Yes if there is a pacemaker then mri cannot be done.
Regularisation of the heart beat is more important for the brain , heart, and also for the peripheral circulation of blood
You can complete mri as early as possible, also with carotid doppler.
Cardiac problem should be given the choice first
If mri is really required then the pacemaker can be technically reversed under supervision for short temporary means
Take care
