Is Morphine Tablet Enough For A Recovering Lung Cancer Male?
Hello Doctor,
I am from Mumbai ,my father is a cancer patient ,59 yrs old. He has been diagonised lung cancer in fourth stage last October. His oncologist suggested Geftinib in the beginning for two months , then he has gone through seven cycles of chemotherapy and in the last for two months he took Erlotinib.and now the oncologist have asked us to stop that too.and now he is taking only Morphine tablet What would u suggest now?

Your father is suffering from stage 4 lung cancer.
Average survival time during this stage is around 6 to 9 months.
Since his doctor has already used gefitinib and erlotinib then his disease might have progressed radiologically and so the basic aim of treatment now should only be basic supportive care.
If pain is not controlled by morphine then he can use buprenorphine transdermal patches.One patch can be used for 7 days than it has to be remove.It can be apply in upper chest area.
