Is Moderate Pain Below The Ribs Due To Tortuous Colon?

I have had a mild to moderate pain in my right side just under the bottom of the ribs for two weeks. I am 72 and have been diagnosed with torturous colon and adhesions, on laxatives by gastro doctor. This is a new symptom and don t know if it just some kind of muscle strain or should I go to primary or gastro doctor to check it out?
